A Salute to the World Series Champions
My collection of Major League Baseball memorabilia consists of one item... yes, count it... one! In the winter of 1975, I wandered into an antiques store in Saline, MI, and noticed an autographed baseball. The shop's owner said it was a team ball from the 1968 World Series Champion Detroit Tigers with original autographs. He wanted $85 for it. Several years later, I discovered that it was actually a 1969 ball, not 1968. OK, so I got snookered. But a baseball with original autographs from these players was worth it to me...
